Aogami 2

Aogami 2 has a small volume of MC-type tungsten carbides in addition to the iron carbides seen in 26C3. Although the tungsten carbides are harder than conventional abrasives, due to their extremely low volumes Aogami 2 can be sharpened on ceramic and natural stones.

Aogami 2 also called Blue 2 is a low alloy steel with a small tungsten addition that lets it form a small volume of extremely wear-resistant tungsten carbides. Compared to 26C3, Aogami 2 offers a slight increase in wear resistance at the cost of a slight reduction in toughness. I harden Aogami 2 to between 60 and 65 Rc depending on the desired characteristics.
