CPM T15

CPM T15 has a moderate volume of carbides (14.5%) that consists of one-third softer high-speed steel carbides (similar to the hardness of chromium carbides) and two-thirds of the harder MC-type vanadium carbides.

CPM T15 is a powder metallurgy version of one of the first “super” high-speed steels developed. It is comparable to CPM M4 but has a larger volume of vanadium carbides and is capable of higher hardness at the cost of a slight drop in toughness. CPM T15 is a great choice for those who want a bit more wear resistance and edge stability over CPM M4. I harden this steel to 68 Rc.
